About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Kala Anders, and I want you to know that I am so glad you are taking this step, as I know it can be so challenging to do so.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, and I have been providing individual therapy for over 6 years. In my experience, I have worked with adults at various stages of their life with a vast array of mental health disorders and life struggles including anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, managing stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, grief and loss, career difficulties, LGBTQ-related matters, and trauma.

Everyone's journey involves many twists and turns in which one cannot simply handle all on their own. As a therapist, it is most important to me to provide an atmosphere where you feel welcome, heard, accepted, and cared for. Whether it is the way you have been feeling, the thoughts you have been having, relationships that are struggling, I am willing and able to come along side you in your journey to help you through it all. I would like to hear where you are in your journey and what is troubling you. From there, I will help you explore alternative ways of thinking, handling, and coping with your current circumstances. Everyone has many strengths, and I will help you to see how your own strengths will help you to manage what you are going through. I utilize a variety of therapy approaches including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

It is my greatest hope that while working together you will be able to achieve a level of personal growth that you need to lead a happy and healthy life.

Kala had been very helpful in listening to my problems and helping me understand what's going on inside my own head and with others in my life. She's been very helpful with her suggestions with behavior modifications and sending me reading material on different subjects to help with behavior modifications as well. So far I am very happy with the results I am getting from speaking with her.

Kala has been extremely helpful in helping me cope with my severe anxiety issues I have on top of having distressing intrusive thoughts. She is very good at what she does. She actually has a passion for helping people and it always means so much more when passion is involved. For me, when I see that she is genuinely interested and willing to help me because she actually wants to and doesn't feel like she has the obligation to helps in an enormous way. It makes me feel cared for, and I feel like I'm in a trusted environment when I talk to Kala. If you're scared of being judged, just know Kala will take care of you.
