Hello and welcome! My name is Kala Anders, and I want you to know that I am so glad you are taking this step, as I know it can be so challenging to do so.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana. I have been providing individual therapy for over 7 years. In my experience, I have worked with adults at various stages of their life with a vast array of mental health disorders and life struggles including anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, managing stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, grief and loss, career difficulties, LGBTQ-related matters, and trauma.
Everyone's journey involves many twists and turns in which one cannot simply handle all on their own. As a therapist, it is most important to me to provide an atmosphere where you feel welcome, heard, accepted, and cared for. Whether it is the way you have been feeling, the thoughts you have been having, relationships that are struggling, I am willing and able to come along side you in your journey to help you through it all. I would like to hear where you are in your journey and what is troubling you. From there, I will help you explore alternative ways of thinking, handling, and coping with your current circumstances. Everyone has many strengths, and I will help you to see how your own strengths will help you to manage what you are going through. I utilize a variety of therapy approaches including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
It is my greatest hope that while working together you will be able to achieve a level of personal growth that you need to lead a happy and healthy life.

Kala has helped me think about things in a much more healthy way and has given me a great perspective on issues. She understands the main problems I have sometimes before I even understand them. I am very comfortable when talking with her and I’m very grateful for her help.

I was matched with Kala at a time where I felt like the captain of a ship whose boat was in hurricane like conditions and near capsizing.
Since I’ve started working with her she’s been human enough to feel like I’m talking to an actual person. An equal even. She’s skilled enough to really learn things from. No just know knew information, but really learn it. Kala is also so judgement-free that I can tell her things I am afraid to even think about.
So, if I am the captain of a ship, Kala has not only helped me to navigate my way out of a storm, but helped me to feel like I am completely capable of encountering another. I am so grateful to have been matched with her.

Kala, is absolutely amazing she has such a good sense for what you are trying to express even if you aren't very good at expressing your problems. She doesn't tell you what your problem, based off of what you say she helps you figure out. You are never labeled, and feel one hundred percent comfortable speaking with her after a few messages or within minutes talking to her on a call. You go at whatever pace you are comfortable and she has different ways to tackle your problems and make progress towards whatever goal you have. Huge recommendation she is absolutely amazing at what she does.
She listens closely in a way that helps illuminate the whole picture, while also catching the details I might not see. Incredibly supportive and helpful throughout my journey.
I’ve been working with Kala for about 6 months. When Kala and I talk, it often feels to me like I’m talking to a good friend...only she’s a friend who doesn’t allow me to stick with unhealthy patterns, always asks me questions and brings up other points of view to help me find my way to the heart of the issue. She always makes me feel heard and understood and she really creates a space where it’s okay to be vulnerable. I highly recommend her as a counselor.

Kala is a GREAT counselor. She always makes me feel heard and validated. Even when I send very long messages, she makes sure to touch on everything I brought up. She also makes sure to ask if she is helping in a way that is useful to me. She makes sure to let me know when she sees improvements too. Talking to her is very easy and I became comfortable talking to her very quickly.
Kala is a great counselor! She is very responsive. She offers support without judgement, and has helped me to set and work on goals for myself. Being able to message and video chat with her has been so helpful and I appreciate all the advice she gives to me.
Kala had been very helpful in listening to my problems and helping me understand what's going on inside my own head and with others in my life. She's been very helpful with her suggestions with behavior modifications and sending me reading material on different subjects to help with behavior modifications as well. So far I am very happy with the results I am getting from speaking with her.

Kala has been extremely helpful in helping me cope with my severe anxiety issues I have on top of having distressing intrusive thoughts. She is very good at what she does. She actually has a passion for helping people and it always means so much more when passion is involved. For me, when I see that she is genuinely interested and willing to help me because she actually wants to and doesn't feel like she has the obligation to helps in an enormous way. It makes me feel cared for, and I feel like I'm in a trusted environment when I talk to Kala. If you're scared of being judged, just know Kala will take care of you.
