Kamaria Bobbitt, LCSW
About me
I am a BIPOC mental health/psychotherapist, licensed to provide counseling services to all of Texas. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English at Texas State University and then completed a Master’s degree in Social Work at University of Texas at San Antonio, followed by an additional Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Science from Sam Houston State University.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and women's issues. I have worked in the field of advocacy and mental health since 2006, at both the residential and outpatient levels. I have obtained a certification in Behavior Intervention Trauma Informed Care and my clinical experience is in Mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
My approach to therapy is warm, interactive, and accepting. I understand how hard it is to take the first step, and I bring that understanding and comfort into my sessions. I like to practice from an ACT approach in session, however each session is personalized to the individuals needs as I also enjoy DBT & a Psychodynamic approach as well. I like to integrate holistic techniques into my practice to allow my clients additional therapeutic options in between and outside of sessions.
If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
