About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with 20 years of professional work experience. For ten years I specialized in Women's Health, and specifically helped women who are struggling with post partum anxiety and depression. I take a client-centered and humanistic approach and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a preferred treatment modality. I am honored you have chosen me to help you heal.
There is no need to suffer in silence when help is available. I am a member of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers. I have also taught Counseling Strategies at Penn State University for nine years after receiving my Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. I focused my graduate studies on adult mental health. I completed my research and doctorate at Capella University, and also teach Psychology at a the University level on a part time basis. My research is on perinatal issues and integrated health as childbirth is a major life change that requires a lot of support. I also can assist with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, confidence, career difficulties, & coping with life changes.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and that all of us are capable of healing. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in your journey!

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Mild who truly exemplified compassion, empathy, and wisdom in our sessions. From the moment I walked into their office, I felt a sense of peace and comfort knowing that I was in a safe space to explore my thoughts and emotions.

Her deep understanding of both psychological principles and Christian faith allowed them to provide me with insightful guidance and support as I navigated through challenging life situations. They gently encouraged me to lean on my faith and trust in God's plan for me, while also equipping me with practical tools to manage my emotions and improve my mental health.

I am grateful for the positive impact Dr. Mild has had on my life, and I highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a therapist who integrates faith into their counseling approach. Thank you for your unwavering support and guidance.

Dr. Mild is so genuinely caring and kind. She listens and understands me better than I could have imagined. I feel like I'll go on babbeling rants she threads together poignant themes to focus both the root and the goal on. She's almost too nice, but I think she knows I need that too.

Wonderful therapist! Kara has helped me through so much in such a short time. She is compassionate, thoughtful and someone I’ve come to trust very much. She also knows her stuff - I can tell that she is very experienced and well versed in different therapeutic modalities. She naturally implements treatment rather than forcing you through worksheets as with other, less experienced therapists. Our conversations flow freely and naturally, yet I always leave with a nugget or two of wisdom I didn’t have before the session began. You’d be so lucky to work with her!
