About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with 20 years of professional work experience. For ten years I specialized in Women's Health, and specifically helped women who are struggling with post partum anxiety and depression. I take a client-centered and humanistic approach and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a preferred treatment modality. I am honored you have chosen me to help you heal.
There is no need to suffer in silence when help is available. I am a member of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers. I have also taught Counseling Strategies at Penn State University for nine years after receiving my Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. I focused my graduate studies on adult mental health. I completed my research and doctorate at Capella University, and also teach Psychology at a the University level on a part time basis. My research is on perinatal issues and integrated health as childbirth is a major life change that requires a lot of support. I also can assist with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, confidence, career difficulties, & coping with life changes.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and that all of us are capable of healing. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in your journey!

Wonderful therapist! Kara has helped me through so much in such a short time. She is compassionate, thoughtful and someone I’ve come to trust very much. She also knows her stuff - I can tell that she is very experienced and well versed in different therapeutic modalities. She naturally implements treatment rather than forcing you through worksheets as with other, less experienced therapists. Our conversations flow freely and naturally, yet I always leave with a nugget or two of wisdom I didn’t have before the session began. You’d be so lucky to work with her!

Kara helps ask the right questions that get me thinking about what I can do to help myself resolve problems in my life. She is a great resource and listens to my concerns without judgement.

Kara has been exceptional. She listens thoughtfully and provides a lot of options for support. Even though therapy itself can be difficult to navigate, I am so grateful to have Kara guiding me.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Kara as my therapist. From our very first communication through the app through every single sessions we’ve had since, she has shown genuine compassion and care beyond what I could have hoped for. She’s an amazing listener, and you always have her fullest attention for every minute you’re with her. More so, she zeroed in on an issue that had been overlooked by other therapists, and did it within the first meeting or two. This issue turned out to be a very central and eye-opening component to my therapy, without which I may have continued down less productive paths. I really can’t say enough about Kara. Therapist are not all created equal and she is wonderful!
