About me

Hi. I am Dr. Karen Ferguson. Congratulations on taking the first step towards change in looking for a therapist who will match you and your needs. That can be a difficult choice and it is a move that signifies how strong you are!

I have been a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for many years. I have my doctorate in marriage and family therapy and have had the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and/or their families who are coping with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, parenting, self-esteem, relationships, bi-polar, and abuse.

The therapy I provide is designed to meet your needs in a warm, caring, judgment-free environment. We would use a combination of family systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment therapy, existential therapy, or trauma therapy techniques. The combination of these approaches would depend on your unique needs.

During therapy we spend time exploring your concerns to understand what you are feeling and thinking, how your family and culture has become a part of you, and increasing understanding of your strengths and challenges and how these have affected and created the person you are today. Therapy is active as we use art, books, journaling, or other approaches to increase your insight into who you are and who you want to become.

I look forward to working with you!
