About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) licensed in Oklahoma with 17 years of experience working with children, adults and families. I've worked with those struggling with severe mental illness as well as those individuals who are struggling with issues including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, divorce, LGBT issues, parenting problems and serious and/or life threatening illness.

My counseling style is client-focused ; I think it's very important to meet the client where they currently are in their journey and work from that point. I am very genuine in my day to day life and bring that trait to each session with the belief that in doing so, the client will feel more at ease with being honest as issues & challenges are being processed. I believe that everyone deserves respect and compassion as well as the opportunity to have added support when needed. My approach combines cognitive behavioral, client centered and rational-emotive counseling techniques. Your treatment plan and the direction of our sessions will be tailored to meet your individual needs.

It's not easy asking for help - especially when life is presenting you with more than your share of challenges. If you are ready to take that first step, I am here to support you.

I AM CURRENTLY ONLY ACCEPTING INTERNATIONAL AND OKLAHOMA CLIENTS

Karen is very warm and she always knows what to say. She understands me and she supports me. When I’m having a bad day, she’s always there for me. And after we have talked, I always feel better and she encourages me to become a better version of myself. Thank you for not only being my counselor, but a friend. I would recommend Karen because she is good at her job and she really does her best to help me

I appreciate the fact that Karen reaches out to check on me even when I haven’t sent an email. She often reminds me to self care and offers advice without a condescending tone. I have enjoyed my experience thus far.

I have never been a fan or believer in counseling so I was skeptical. Even more skeptical not going to an actual office. Karen has done a fantastic job at making me feel comfortable. She assured me that I was safe here and things I may not typically say could be said here. I am a very hard-headed individual, so I just want to rank Karen for putting up with me through my bumpy life! I look forward to continuing my walk through life with you.

Karen is so caring and insightful! She is not afraid to be honest, but does so with a tremendous amount of tact and understanding. Feels just like talking to a friend, but one who is an expert at approaching a vast variety of situations and emotions!

Karen has been so kind and helpful. She is very professional but also adds in her charming personality. It feels like I'm talking to a friend but one that knows what they're talking about.

Karen is really understanding. I'm glad that she listens to me in a nonjudgmental way. That she does what she can to understand, help me calm down, etc, with the information I give her, and that she responds to all my "essay long" messages in detail.

At first I wasn't sure if Karen would be a fit for me, because I am an over thinker and thought she might be very black and white thinking. WOW! Karen is AMAZING! She immediately checked on me, gave me support and explained in very easy language how she can help me without me losing control. My PTSD and depression were out of my control and Karen has quickly helped me re-set my thinking. She assures me that I am in control of my sessions.... she really cares!
