I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) licensed in Oklahoma with 20+ years of experience working with children, adults and families. I've worked with those struggling with severe mental illness as well as those individuals who are struggling with issues including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, divorce, LGBT issues, parenting problems and serious and/or life threatening illness.
My counseling style is client-focused ; I think it's very important to meet the client where they currently are in their journey and work from that point. I am very genuine in my day to day life and bring that trait to each session with the belief that in doing so, the client will feel more at ease with being honest as issues & challenges are being processed. I believe that everyone deserves respect and compassion as well as the opportunity to have added support when needed. My approach combines cognitive behavioral, client centered and rational-emotive counseling techniques. Your treatment plan and the direction of our sessions will be tailored to meet your individual needs.
It's not easy asking for help - especially when life is presenting you with more than your share of challenges. If you are ready to take that first step, I am here to support you.
I am accepting both international and Oklahoma clients!

Karen has been such a great therapist to have and i‘ve really enjoyed working with her! She has been very understanding about my issues and concerns, and given appropriate advice. I‘ve felt like i can tell her about anything and that she is not going to judge me, but rather learn about my point of view.

Karen has been such a support for me in the last two years. She is an amazing listener and really knew how to react and help me when I was going through a depressive episode. Karen has provided me with many tools that I can use going forward, to combat my depression and anxiety. She offers up her own experiences and provides a no judgment space. I was very comfortable sharing with her. Karen has offered tremendous support for me as I have entered a very difficult stage of life in becoming a full-time caregiver for my aging mother who has dementia. Karen has offered insight, and reminded me of important priorities, and has offered practical support and ideas as well. She easily relates to my thoughts and ideas and offers grounding support and guidance. She has been particularly helpful in helping place perspective on the coronavirus pandemic. I would recommend Karen to anyone seeking support and insight into their own thoughts and behaviors. Thank you Karen!

Karen is knowledgable and truly cares about her clients! She always addresses my concerns and it's nice that she obviously makes notes and doesn't just listen without doing any work. I've had counselors think they just need to be an confidential ear for someone to vent to and that is enough. Yes it helps, but it helps a lot more if they can reference your past sessions and actually remember what you vented about! Lol! Karen is a jewel!
