About me

I am a clinical psychologist with twelve years of psychotherapy experience. I have worked extensively with individuals with trauma and stressor related disorders (including PTSD), depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders, as well as with individuals who have experienced grief and loss, relationship issues, or career challenges.

I value creating a space where people can be human. I believe that psychological suffering in all its many forms is a normal part of life, and I model and encourage genuineness and vulnerability. More formally, I have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an approach that is grounded in the belief that different is not a disease and that each of us is whole, complete and perfect.

I will challenge my clients to develop a different relationship with painful thoughts and feelings, which we are bound to experience if we are engaged in meaningful living. I do this by facilitating the development of mindfulness and distress tolerance skills. I also emphasize the importance of self-compassion, as I believe this is a much more useful concept than self-esteem. I will also challenge my clients to identify and move towards that which makes their lives feel meaningful and gives them a sense of purpose. I believe this is possible for everyone.
