About me

Are you tired of feeling hopeless, broken, and alone? Do the struggles of life have you feeling mentally and emotionally depleted? Well, let me help you. I am here to help guide you in regaining your mental health, inner peace, and self-worth.
I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist. I have over 26 years in counseling which includes my experience in Christian counseling. I have experience in Medical Social Work, Mobile Crisis, Bereavement, and Hospice Care. I currently have a private practice where I provide psychotherapy services to adults who suffer from grief and loss, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and life transitions. I received my Master’s degree from Southern University in New Orleans. Subsequently, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I use evidence-based practices that promote healing. My approach to therapy is client-focused which means that I meet you where you are and join you on your path to self-discovery and self-healing. I also utilize EMDR to help you process trauma and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is great for meeting short-term goals and helping to change your pattern of thinking. I also use non-traditional approaches which include Eastern Philosophy. This allows me to develop treatment plans to meet all of your needs.
Together we will work towards the redevelopment, regrowth, and renewal of your emotional and mental well-being. It is my life’s work to transform the mind, the body, and the soul through mental and spiritual empowerment. I will help you to develop the tools and skills needed to cope with life’s challenges. I look forward to working with you.

We have only had two sessions so far, but Karen's infectious energy plus her style and methods are great. I am left feeling boosted after each session and with further clarity on my areas of concern.

Karen has been an amazing counsellor. She is very attentive and has a way of making you look at things in a different light. She’s given practical tips which I hope to use in daily life to challenge my negative thoughts and find some peace. Would really recommend her to anyone who needs a person to guide them on their journey to finding peace and happiness within themselves.
