About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with licensure in both Arizona and Texas. I have mostly worked with survivors of physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse in multiple settings, including residential, partial-hospitalization programs, and domestic violence shelters. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I use warm, individualized, empowering, person-first, and trauma-informed methods to help my clients with multiple conditions and diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, substance use, Adjustment Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
I believe that our brains are powerful and fascinating. I love helping individuals understand more about their brain, how to harness the power of our mind and body, and provide proactive help to find hope and healing. I find it an honor and a privilege to join life-changing journeys to discover ways of “retraining the brain.” Taking that first step on this journey is a big one. Let’s make it together.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Karen Welker. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
She has created such a safe space for me, I have opened up and discovered things about myself that I never thought I would!
Karen is wonderful to talk to. She gives me guidance that I see instant results with. We have a great connection and I truly feel like I’m making great progress! Thank you Karen!
I really feel heard and understood .
I’ve just had a few sessions with Karen, but am excited to continue on with her as my counselor! She’s offered helpful techniques and has explained things to me in a way that is easy for me to understand! I feel comfortable and at ease in speaking to her. I’m grateful for her knowledge and help.
She is my favorite. Different from other therapists I’ve had.
Karen is wonderful. She has gained my trust and I don’t ever feel like she is judging me. I always feel better after talking to her.
Karen is a wonderful counselor! I highly recommend her. She's so helpful and supportive.
Mrs. Karen has been a huge help during this season in my life. She has helped me sort through a lot of things and she’s very attentive, replies immediately when she can and she is always clear and up front. I love Mrs. Karen and I will definitely be holding on to her!
Karen is an amazing resource and I'm so thankful I have her in my corner. Having been in traditional therapy previously, I have to say having someone that you can message 24/7 and talk to via phone makes it so much easier to be consistent in my therapy. She has given me great tools and insight to manage my depression.
Karen is kind and compassionate. I feel that she is very good at meeting me where I'm at, letting my feelings and needs direct conversation. She is super knowledgeable and but still very human and real.
It’s only been 3 weeks and Karen has helped me make progress that I’ve put off for years! She’s very warm and insightful. It’s easy to share my struggles in a nonjudgmental environment. I would highly recommend Karen to my closest family and friends!
