I am a clinician who believes in beginning again and that you too can find health and a life you choose.
I have experience with people of all ages and developmental stages from attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, severe and pervasive mental illness, health related issues, trauma, work life balance, and relational issues. I have a passion to help those who have been wounded in life and/or by their decisions.
I went back to school for my first masters in Counseling Psychology in 2002 while raising four young children, who had a combination of Asperger's and ADHD. I quickly decided I needed more education so I moved into additional education opportunities and in 2012 graduated with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University.
I believe in meeting a person where they are at. Often you know what the problem is but need help finding the way through the problem or pain. I see myself as a light holder and sometimes the map holder.
I utilize an integrative model for my therapeutic work including: Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solution Focused and use some dialectical behavior skill building. Additionally, I value the psycho-social-biological-spiritual needs and focus of my clients and am versed in cultural concerns and will always consider them in treatment plans.
I believe you have many strength which we can use to enhance or to rebuild your life.
- Stress, Anxiety
- Trauma and abuse
- Parenting issues
- Self esteem

Dr. Pearson-Parham has been absolutely awesome in these past couple of months since starting therapy. She is so great at listening to my concerns and validating what I’m feeling but also is helpful in encouraging me to keep growing and has helped me to develop so many tools to help me through my struggles with my mental health. I saw so much growth and healing within myself after just a couple weeks with her. 10/10 recommended her if you are interested in having her as your therapist.
Great therapist, gives you tools to work through your needs.
I've been resistant to therapy for 2+ years and have visited, became frustrated and ultimately dismissed approximately 4 other folks. I did this in spite of knowing I could benefit from professional support.
I've been working weekly with Dr. Pearson-Parham for over 2 months. I admit I expected she would be the 5th person I blew off. I'm thankful to admit that I was wrong. I now have someone on my journey with me holding the light.
I enjoyed my meeting with Dr. Pearson-Parham, she was very attentive and listened to me and offered some good advice.
Very discerning and does not force an outcome; great balance of letting me vent and being proactive in providing direction.
Our first session was very positive.
Dr. Karis is the best therapist I have ever had the experience of working with. She is a great balance of listening and sharing, advice and technique. She is wonderful and I would highly recommend!
Dr. Pearson-Parham has made me feel safe comfortable since our very first chat. She is patient, kind, and so good with my particular issues. I look forward to our video calls every week. She answers my texts even outside of her posted hours, I can't imagine doing this without her now. The healing process with her, seems far less daunting than before.
Dr Pearson-Parham has been a tremendous support as I am navigating a challenging time. Her counsel and listening ear have helped me gain clarity and confidence. She is very easy to talk to and I feel safe sharing with her as well as receiving feedback.
BH therapist to BH therapist was a hard step for me, it’s so hard for us as clinicians in general to need to sit and be the client but Dr. P-P has helped me do that with ease. She respects areas where I may be the expert, gently allows me to come to my own right conclusions when what she’s says is more accurate, helps me stay calm in sessions when hyperventilating, suggests applicable homework and more. I enjoy working with her greatly and for see a long therapeutic relationship to come!
