About me

Hello and Welcome!

I'm excited to be able to offer an alternate form of therapy than the traditional in office and I'm sure you are wondering if this is for you?
A little bit about me: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years experience. I started my social work career right out of college where I immediately fell in love with my work and the ability to help. I hold a Bachelors in Psychology, a Masters in Social Work with a specialty in individual counseling and am an LCSW in Connecticut. My experience ranges from helping people with varying disabilities, caregivers, children, elders, families, and individuals. I have worked most with clients concerning caregiver burnout, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, role changes, end of life, struggling with new health diagnosis, parenting problems, self-advocacy, grief and loss, Alzheimers and Dementia, stress management and planning for the future. I also have experience with bipolar and schizophrenia.

My counseling style is warm and engaging. I fully believe we all need help at different points in our life and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Many of us go see our doctor to take care of our physical body on a regular basis often times without even thinking; I'm suggesting we should do the same for our mental health. I'm a believer in sometimes we just need one person to reach out and that can make all the difference. I am an open therapist and hold no judgment in what we will discuss. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe when interacting with me. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, stress management theory, humanistic, and psychodynamic counseling. Every person is entirely unique and we will work together to create an appropriate treatment plan based on those needs.

I'm sure this was a tough decision and I want to say what an amazing step you are taking today! I hope that I can be a positive support for you in this journey. Please feel free to message me.

I look forward to meeting you!

Kate has been such a great help! She provides many different opportunities to video chat, and will let you do it more than once a week if need be. I’ve always felt that my feelings have been respected and she fully cares about helping you sort through your problems.
