About me

I am a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in working with adult survivors of childhood trauma, through the use of affective and experiential therapy. I am also a certified administrator/interpreter of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI ®), and have etensive training in the Enneagram system of personality typing. I also am a certified facilitator of the 3 Keys to Self-Understanding, a ground-breaking approach to deep emotional healing, focused on restoring the mind-body-spirit connection, and has worked with this integrative and experiential healing approach for over sixteen years. In addition to this, I am completing a six year training program in Body Centered Gestalt Therapy from the Integrative Psychotherapy Training Program of Kansas City. I work with clients both in the United States and internationally as well.

In addition to my private counseling practice, I also teach as graduate faculty in the Counseling Department at Webster University and facilitate group therapy for those interested in healing childhood and relationship trauma. I strongly believe in integrating creativity into the healing process and as such, facilitate self-exploration groups, classes and workshops using right brain techniques such as visual journaling, guided imagery, art, music, movement and creativity to get deeper than word and cognition into feelings. I have presented locally and nationally on these topics, and consults with community organizations, businesses, ministry groups and educational staff.
I am very interested in and currently working on innovative ways to blend technology and deep experiential healing practices, as additional forms of support for clients, to be used as supplements to therapeutic work. I have written a guided imagery program called, "Soul Meditations: Building A Relationship That Lasts (A Guided Meditation Program)", that incorporates experiential therapeutic exercises in digital audio format. I also host an online Facebook Group, called Visual Journaling: Expanding Your Emotional Intelligence. For more information, you can visit or contact me at: www.kateschroederlpc.com.

My counseling style is warm, experiential and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our work together to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

In healing,

Kate
