About Me

Fighting the good fight every day, I will support you no matter what!! I am relentless in my pursuit to help others and am very person centered in my approach. I am open to various modalities and am flexible in my treatment style in order to best meet the needs of my clients. I feel a deep need to help others, I am a natural empath and will help you. Feel free to look at my LinkedIn page for a full resume and also check with the NYS licensing board. You should be educated and comfortable with me, that is the best way we can make treatment work!

A little bit on my background...I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) in NYS and have been practicing for over 17 years. I also have my BC-TMH (Board Certified-Tele Mental Health Provider) Certificate, which assists me in being an effective online therapy provider. Being born and raised in NYC I pull from many different modalities of therapy and treatment and believe that the most results come from the deep rooted connection that my clients and I develop.

I was awarded my Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in 2001, Advanced Standing Program and my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from New York University in 2000. I started interning at New York Foundlings Crisis Nursery, where I was then hired upon completion of my internship. My second internship was at Brooklyn Treatment Court, where I was also hired at the end of my internship. I have worked in substance abuse programs, schools, hospitals, alternative to incarceration programs and with many different individuals.

I worked at Bellevue Hospital in Inpatient Psychiatry for about 7 years, in addition, I worked part-time in their Psychiatric Emergency Program. This was truly invaluable, all of it was and still is. From there I was recruited to be the Assistant Director of Social Work and Case Management at North General Hospital. I worked in the world’s largest supportive housing program for individuals with a multitude of issues (mental health, substance use, medical issues, legal problems, financial difficulties, poor support systems, etc.). I was identified to lead a pilot program funded by the NYS Office of Mental Health and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. I was the Clinical Crisis Coordinator at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West, I oversaw the Mobile Crisis and Mobile Outreach Teams and had oversight into the CPEP’s (Comprehensive Psychiatric Program)’s. I have also held roles in business, HR, Operations, Communications, and Talent Development. I have also had a private practice on the side for over 9 years. I treat people in person as well as online privately as well as through platforms such as Talkspace, KMD and Betterhelp. I recently joined KHealth and am assisting in launching their new online therapy component.

My passion lies in helping others get to the root of what they are seeking and improve. I want to help you achieve YOUR goals. I offer online therapy via secure video, text based therapy, in person therapy….my goal is to help develop the most effective therapy for you based upon your needs.

I have been with Kate for about 3 months now. She definitely helps me get to the roots of my issues and is not afraid to be open in communication. Definitely an experienced counselor who will help you unravel the right questions for you to answer.

Kate is an extremely helpful counselor. She responds quickly and confronts your concerns while guiding you to address matters that need more exploration. I appreciate her frequent check-ins and diligence as a counselor. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma.
