About me

Welcome! I’m Kate, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and I have been working in the counseling field since 2014. I have worked with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, ADHD, mood dysregulation, parenting challenges, career challenges, addiction, and major life stress. I provide solution-focused interventions that help you accomplish your goals.

I strive to create a counseling experience that feels safe, engaging, and non-judgmental. My therapeutic approach starts with person-centered theory, which allows the client to guide the therapy at their own pace, in a supported environment. I often blend in cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on the relationship between thoughts and behaviors; existential therapy, which focuses on how fear and anxiety manifest; motivational interviewing, which can highlight contradictions between our beliefs and actions; and, if interested, art therapy which utilizes creative expression to provide a different way to communicate and facilitate change. I will tailor the therapy based on your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to work towards a fulfilling and happier life. It is a privilege to be here to assist, support, and empower you on your journey.

I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

Without a doubt, Kate is the best therapist I have ever had. She listened to me and truly tries to understand me. She offers multiple methods to help me cope with my struggles, and pays attention to what does or doesn’t work for me. She even helps me understand things better by both pointing things out I hadn’t thought of, and also explaining things I don’t grasp so I can understand myself. I highly recommend her, she is amazing.

Katharine is hands-down the best therapist I've ever worked with. She is a wealth of resources, empathy and wisdom. I've never left a session feeling anything other than understood, acknowledged, empowered.
