About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have been working with a variety of client issues for over 7 years. I specialize in treating teens and adults who experience a variety of roadblocks in life. I take a collaborative approach to counseling and therapy, in that you and I will together determine your best treatment, and I have a deep respect for your choice in seeking help. Issues may include: anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, relationship concerns, substance abuse and other addiction issues, disordered eating and poor relationship with food, family of origin difficulties, attachment issues, low self-esteem, communication problems, life transition, personal growth, codependency, disordered personality traits, women's issues, grief, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, anger management, problems with work/career, sexuality concerns, low resilience, or concerns with intimacy.

I take a holistic view of problems in our lives and work with you as the expert of your own experience. I believe compassion, understanding, and the therapeutic relationship are valuable as the framework within which change will occur. I use a combination of approaches that will be catered to your individual needs, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, acceptance and commitment principles, mindfulness exercises, existential theory, a psychodynamic understanding of the development of problems, and other approaches that may be most useful.

Asking for help is difficult. Taking that first step to do so is courageous and strong.

Kate is a great therapist and soul. I don't know where I would be without her, and hope to never find it.

Katherine is a wonderful counselor. She knows how to ask the right questions to further explore feelings and seek understanding in ways that help reach a lasting comfort and peace. She incredibly kind and considerate. Katherine is a first class counselor I would recommend to anyone at anytime.

I've been on BetterHelp a few different times from a few different states, and in doing so, have been matched with a handful of counselors on this site. And all I can say is, I'm *so* glad I was matched to Katherine this time around, and I'll definitely be continuing to work with her for as long as I use this service. She's the perfect balance of actively listening to what you're saying and empathizing with it, and also offering constructive, realistic solutions and step-by-step ways to implement them in your life. She's also very accommodating with scheduling. 10/10 in my book.

Katherine helped so much during a time I never thought I would have to go through in my life. I can’t recommend her enough, and am so thankful for the changes in my life, and that I still have my life, thanks to her being so proactive and supportive. She is a wonderful counselor who feels like a friend I’ve known for years! I highly recommend her!!
