About me

Hi,

Thank you for exploring me as an option for improved wellness. I have been living and providing treatment to individuals in rural Arizona for over 15 years and have worked several years abroad in the Philippines. I choose to engage people in mental health and substance abuse services because I see myself as a support to the them.

I get to work where my clients is at - see their strengths and skills they have and assist to work through or strengthen them to be their best self. Thus far, I have had wonderful career experiences as a mental health provider and substance abuse treatment provider.

I have had the opportunity to work in a wide range of socio-cultural settings: community mental health, federal agencies, tribal communities, international agencies. I enjoy the following treatment modalities: solution focused, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.

I have had the incredible opportunity to work with individuals, couples and families. I I have worked with range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, education/career challenges/life transitions, grief and loss.

Being part of my clients journey is a role I feel passionate about. I feel honored in this role to assist clients working through challenges, meeting their goals and celebrating their successes. I look forward to meeting with you!

Empathetic but not overly so. Pushes you to be honest and introspective

The availability of video chat and consultation with a therapist is the best option I could ask for. I live in a small community where everyone knows each other and the option for therapists are limited and have waiting lists. Katherine is awesome and felt so comfortable from the moment we started emailing each other. She’s exactly who I was looking for. This is also the first time I had to answer questionnaires for who I am looking for and what they specialize in, which is amazing. I recommended Betterhelp to my friends and family and I will definitely utilize and continue to utilize Betterhelp again and again.

This was my first experience with therapy and I couldn’t have had a better therapist! Katherine helped me through a particularly challenging time of high anxiety caused by medical issues and family challenges. She helped me see and reframe some of my family dynamics and personal perceptions. She gave me a set of tools that I have continued to use even after our sessions ended. I highly recommended Katherine as an empathetic and insightful therapist that offers practical strategies for coping and change.
