I am a mental health therapist, licensed in the State of Michigan as a Clinical Social Worker. I have over 10 years of experience working in grief and bereavement and 8 years of work experience in case management in the field of vocational rehabilitation. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues and specialize most in depression, anxiety, life transitions, workplace success, coping with grief and loss, self-esteem and confidence, and lgbtq+ related issues.
My main focus is as a grief therapist, helping to guide individuals through death and loss to heal and find the closure they long for. I believe that there is no timeline for grief and no matter if it has been 1 month, 1 year, or 10 years, your grief and feelings are valid.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, partnering with you to identify goals, and understanding your individual and unique needs while looking at the whole picture to move forward. I pull from a variety of models to maintain a more holistic and eclectic approach such as Strengths-Based Intervention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I maintain a strengths-based and person-centered approach. When working in grief and bereavement, I pull from the Dual Process Model and Tasks of Mourning.
I identify as a queer, neuro-diverse, cis-gendered white woman in a larger body and recognized the way my identity interacts with my practices and the clients that I serve.
