Kathleen Becker, LMSW
About me
I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2000 and have spent the majority of my career on inpatient psychiatric units. I have worked in mental health clinics providing therapy to a wide range of individuals as well as having my own private practice.
I believe life is both wonderful and challenging. During challenging times people often feel stuck - it's an awful place to be and finding someone to help you out of stuck can be of great comfort and assistance. I provide compassionate, supportive therapy. I explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors that cause people to become stuck and work on practicing new thoughts, feelings and behaviors to become "unstuck". Therapy is a collaborative and dynamic process and I enjoy working with a wide variety of individuals to assist them in getting the most out of their life.
I'm very interactive and ask a lot of questions. I know therapy is serious, meaningful work however I also believe that it should be enjoyable. I respect the courage it takes to reach out for help and believe each person deserves respect, validation and compassionate care.
