About me

Hello! My name is Kathryn and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been a therapist in a range of therapeutic environments including: inpatient residential and outpatient court mandated settings. I have worked with clients impacted by a multitude of struggles and have assisted in their battles against depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma and relationship challenges. Clients with whom I've developed a trusting therapeutic relationship with have varied in age, race, gender, sexuality, religion and culture. I also specialize in Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and have worked with families on navigating difficult conversations and developing better understandings of themselves and the people they love.

I received my B.A in Psychology from Indiana University in 2014 and my Master's in Social Work in 2016 from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) with a specialization in mental health and addiction. During that time, I was also awarded the Health Resources and Service Administration Fellowship for my work with transitional aged youth.

My approach to therapy is client centered: Every client is different and every situation is unique and is treated as such. I have a holistic perspective and look through a multitude of lens and treatment modalities to empower clients, navigate difficulties, and develop awareness of patterns that we, as humans, may not always be aware of. I have a passion and a love for people and truly believe that you are the expert on your life and experience. I draw skills from models such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and am a certified in trauma processing.

I am happy to answer any further questions you may have as you navigate this, often, overwhelming process of trying to find a therapist who matches your needs.

Kathryn is a great therapist. I have enjoyed my sessions with her. It took me so long to find a therapist that I vibe with and felt really understood me. Kathryn truly listens to me and understands my needs. She helps me too reframe my perspective and understand myself better. I feel like I have grown and come to understand my own patterns of behavior better and how I can improve.
