My name is Kathryn Falbo-Woodson, MSW, LSCW, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in NC with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I have an undergraduate degree in psychology (BA) and a Master's in Social Work (MSW). I have volunteered in different capacities with local nonprofit organizations, supporting social justice and suicide prevention efforts.
My background includes extensive experience understanding hope and resiliency and treating stress-related disorders, such as trauma, relationship distress, anxiety and depression. Many times these conditions go hand-in-hand with other medical conditions (i.e., autoimmune disorders, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurological disorders, etc.) or life stages (i.e., career changes, caregiving, death/dying, divorce/separation, empty nest, retirement, etc.). I also work with individuals in "health coaching" capacities, such as developing effective strategies to enhance well-being, including improved sleep, weight loss, stress reduction, and pain management.
I work from a compassion-oriented framework to foster holistic healing. Our work will be grounded in safety and hope. Many clients tell me I make them feel very at home and comfortable as if we've known each other for a very long time even upon our first meeting together. I recognize that asking for help is a difficult first step in your healing process and I am honored to walk alongside you on this journey.

I was lucky enough to be matched with Kathryn for several issues relating to getting my life back on track. I’ve been in therapy before, but I’ve never made as much progress as I have during these past few months. I will be eternally grateful for her excellent questions, professionalism, and advice. BetterHelp is an investment but she made every dollar worth it.

Kathryn is awesome! As a first time user of Betterhelp, and a first time participant in counseling, she made it a VERY easy and comfortable process. A true professional, she broke down my goals for counseling with me and helped guide me through the process of figuring out what I wanted to accomplish. I would recommend Kathryn to anyone looking to get into counseling.

Thank you, Kathryn, for your calmness, your attentiveness and your thoughtfulness. I feel like I can be "real" with you and not feel overly vulnerable. Rather than feeling lost or confused after our sessions, I almost universally feel smarter, more capable and supported. It allows me to do my life and my job with more ease and self assurance. Thank you.

Kathryn helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. When I first began therapy I was extremely anxious and really struggling to get through the day. Kathryn was able to connect with me quickly in a very authentic way. She really heard me through my often rambling messages. She validated my feelings and helped me learn to manage my emotions and stress. Her support and insight was invaluable. And I can honestly say that I am happier and thriving now after my experience with her.

I was in a really bad place before I began my counseling sessions with Kathryn. More than anything, she really seemed to listen to my concerns and offer sound and quality advice, in addition to doing exercises with me to work through my thoughts and feelings. Wonderful experience!

I feel so fortunate to have gotten paired with Kathryn as my counselor. I felt nervous coming into counseling because there was so much on my mind and I felt so overwhelmed, but she was able to guide me through processing my past traumas. She also provided me with very practical solutions to help me get to know myself better. Her ability to empathize and connect with me made our video calls feel more like we were just sitting across from each other. I couldn't recommend Kathryn more highly to anyone seeking out a counselor.
