Dr. Kathryn Lou, Psychologist
About me
I am a clinical psychologist with over 12 years of experience working as a therapist and psychological assessor. I have worked in a variety of settings including college counseling centers with undergraduate and graduate students, private practices, child therapy centers, a community hospital with both inpatient and outpatient settings, and forensic locations (court child clinic and jail settings). Additionally, I currently work in specialized medical settings such as outpatient and residential post acute treatment for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients from all walks of life. I have helped clients cope with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders as well as situational stressors, trauma, interpersonal, relationship and family issues.
My therapy style is eclectic as my training includes humanistic (client centered), psychodynamic and holistic approaches. I seek to engage in therapy with my clients using a warm, empathetic style using tools and techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to empower my clients to find the path that works for them.
I appreciate how hard it can be to seek out help and I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
