About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama with over five years of experience helping individuals and families work to make the change they want in their lives. I have worked with all kinds of people who have come in with a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I believe that nothing is a problem until it's a problem. So while many people struggle with many different things, you determine when it has become a problem in your life that you're ready to confront. I am here to support you, encourage you, and hold you accountable to the goals you set. I try to be very positive in my approach and offer unconditional positive regard for those I work with. My core belief in counseling is that we only control ourselves and thus must take responsibility for our actions and let go of attempts to control others. At times this idea is uncomfortable because it means nobody makes you do anything, you choose to act, respond, or think the way you do. This is also very freeing though because it means no one can make you do anything and you are in control!

That first step of reaching out for help is often the hardest and I want to congratulate you on this accomplishment! If you are ready to make a change, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!
