"That which stands in the way is the way." - Eckhart Tolle
Hello and welcome to my profile! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with four years of experience in a private practice setting, providing talk therapy to a diverse group of adults. Most people who seek my support are experiencing some form of stress in their lives. This may manifest as anxiety, depression, anger, addictive behaviors, disordered eating, grief, trauma, relationship conflict, a struggle with life transitions, and trauma. I also assist people who wish to deepen their self understanding and personal growth. Whatever you are going through, I believe that we can join together to help you understand your unique experience and develop creative solutions.
I believe that effective counseling happens when we approach what you are going through with open-hearted curiosity as opposed to judgment. Effective counseling happens when your insight inspires you to make changes that work for you. Sometimes this change is visible and external. Other times, it is learning that you have the ability to accept parts of you or aspects of your life that you may worry are unacceptable.
For those who are familiar with therapeutic lingo, my approach blends insight-oriented approaches (humanistic, psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems work) with action-oriented approaches (mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy and coaching techniques). I offer my clients tools and resources, such as breath work, book/video suggestions, guided imagery, mindfulness training, and journaling prompts. These tools can help you manage and work through what is blocking you from engaging in life with a deeper sense of confidence and agency.
When we work together, you can expect a warm and curious environment - one that respects you, one that suspends judgment, one that guides you to trust yourself, and one that will help you to understand the burdens and patterns in yourself and your life that have brought you to therapy.
I look forward to meeting you and hold real hope that therapy will help you identify what holds you back and relate to the many parts of you with an open heart!

Katie is very strong listener. She quickly identifies and relates to my problems. She guides me with looking at my issues and how to solve them.
Katie is a superb counsellor. I was extremely apprehensive in starting counseling but Katie has been nothing short of exceptional in her patience, allowing me to take it at my own pace.
Katie's ability to ask questions that allow you to come to your own conclusions whilst at the same time not being too probing has been extremely useful for me and has been a key part in developing the right skills and tools to manage myself day-to-day.
Finally, Katie always responds to my messages in a very thorough but thoughtful manner.
I have no hesitation in recommending Katie to anyone that feels they would benefit from counseling (and even those who feel they wouldn't...!)
Katie Andrews is a caring, very competent therapist who listens and offers amazing insight into whatever your issue may be in short period of time. She gives you new ways of thinking as well as tools to begin change. I am fortunate to work with her and would happily recommend!
Katie has been instrumental in helping me understand my problems, sympathizing with my particular perspective while also providing an objective viewpoint. I cannot understate how much help she's been in just being able to see my struggles from the outside without judgement.
Katie is great. Very easy to share difficult topics with and works with you through the steps. Excellent and highly recommend.
I have only had a few sessions with Katie, but she has already made a positive impact on the way I view counseling. She has been understanding, helpful, and knowledgeable.
I am so glad that I have met Katie! looking forward to more sessions with her!
Katie has been a wonderful support for me. She offers great advice and tools to practice when I am alone. She is always prompt. She is always considerate and compassionate. I feel fortunate to have found her and connect with her.
After just a couple sessions with Katie, she has already helped me immensely. She isn’t scared off by a patient that has a lot of illnesses and/or concerns, and she is the best listener. She never judges, but is very understanding and offers great insight. I would highly recommend Katie no matter what you are going through, or if you just need to talk.
Katie is an amazing, empathetic listener. Being in a poor place in life often seems to attract a lot of advice, which I find to be very unpleasant and unsatisfactory. It was so nice to just have Katie listen for a change. It felt like someone cared and that they really wanted to help you. Very grateful for that.
Katie has been incredible to talk to. She really truly understands what I have been going through and has offered so many useful ways to think about my current situation. A different and insightful perspective has allowed me to think so much more clearly. There is absolutely no judgement, just pure support which allows me to talk about all the things you’re not supposed to say out loud. Thank you!
Katie has been incredible to work with. She totally changed my life. She is both understanding and forward-looking. I can't recommend her highly enough.
I have only had one video counseling session with Katie so far but it helped me a lot. She gave me great tips on how to manage some of the issues I am dealing with at the moment and she also provided resources that I can use to deal with my anxiety. She responds to all of my messages and I really feel like she listens to me and understands what I am going through. I highly recommend speaking with her if you're looking for an online therapist.
