About me

Life gives us all different experiences and some are far too challenging to even put into words. Therefore, trying to describe and process these events, memories, and traumas can be especially difficult at times. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) ,Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) I'm trained in using art making and creativity as psychotherapy. I've been practicing as both a licensed counselor and art therapist in the state of Pennsylvania for 8 years and have worked with a variety of populations and people from various cultural backgrounds. If you're unfamiliar with art therapy but interested please ask! These techniques and interventions can be a incorporated as a supplement to our counseling sessions and serves as a non-verbal tool or catalyst to verbal processing. But wait... what does all that psych jargon actually mean? Essentially, there are times when words are just not enough! No need to be artistic or "good at art." "Bad artists" are welcome as well because if you can simply hold a pen to scribble and have an open mind you're good to give it a try.

I specialize in counseling for children, teens/young adults, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, loss, parenting challenges, family conflicts, LGBTQ+ related challenges, trauma, chronic illness, chronic pain, and other medical/developmental concerns. Additionally I have experience working with eating issues, challenges surround sexuality, and people identifying as LGBTQIA+ individuals. My style is very person-centered and I strive to pull from various tools in my "toolbox" to find the right fit for you and your goals so we will work together to find what works for YOU. I firmly believe that humans we are innately wired to be resilient and will assess YOU individually in order to develop a personalized treatment plan to best support YOU. I always welcome feedback from my subscribers in order to best meet their needs.

Please reach out, that's the first step... you got this and I am here to help. I look forward to meeting you!

Katie your amazing. I feel like I open up more and more with her each session.

My time working with Katie was great, and would recommend her to anyone looking for an easy going, comfortable conversationalist. Often communicating like a friend, I wouldn't realize some of the guidance and though provoking questions she would ask in the moment, only to gain further insight later on. Her recommendations for practices outside of our sessions were often great, and when they were something that did not mesh or prove effective, she was quick to move on and try something new.
