About Me

I am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and have eight years of experience in the mental health field. I have experience working with a range of mental health needs, such as depression, anxiety, mood instability, adjustment, ADHD and parenting concerns. I also have experience working with individuals overcoming traumatic life events.

I believe in the power of hope, connection and support to provide an environment where every individual can feel safe, valued and supported. My goal is to offer compassion and understanding to each individual I encounter. My counseling approach consists of a range of methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. Ultimately, my goal is to work collaboratively to meet the needs and goals of the individual.

Seeking therapy can often be a difficult choice to make; I am proud you have taken this step and believe you are helping to reduce the stigma of mental health. I am excited to work with you!

Katie is very patient and knowledgeable. She listens and asks great questions. She also provides good tools and homework if you are interested them. There were many positives to her approach, but what stands out is how I definitely appreciated her helping me to manage my overthinking. I feel like I've made a lot of progress with my sessions with her and enjoyed them very much. She is SO fit for this profession. Thank you, Katie!

Katie is a superb counselor and a wonderful person! She is a very positive individual and sees the good in people while helping them with their struggles. Throughout my counseling experience, she always focused on positive qualities in me and encouraged those plus points and helped me recognize it. This improved my self-esteem and helped me see the good in me. She gives practical and easy to follow solutions via worksheets or exercises to help me with my struggles and gives encouraging feedback after completion. She always asked me whether I would be willing to try new exercises or not and never forced anything. She is a patient listener and is non-judgmental. She is genuinely a nice person and sees the good in everything and that shows in her counseling services. In addition, she is a thorough professional, courteous, kind, respectful, and made me feel comfortable. I always looked forward to counseling. I believe her positivity, encouragement, and her guidance helped me with my inner growth, self-worth, and was also able to come out of my sadness over time. I highly recommend her services.

Katie is a great supporter, and does an excellent job of remembering my storylines to create a more cohesive therapy experience each week.

Katie has been very helpful in teaching me tools to tackle areas of my life in which I wanted some help. She is understanding and knowledgeable, and I appreciate her insights. She has also recommended additional resources, such as books or podcasts, that have furthered my progress. I have gleaned so much from my sessions with her! This has been my first personal experience with therapy, and I feel very lucky for it to have been so positive!

As my first time getting help, I was very nervous and anxious to try this out. Katie has proven to be very understanding and very patient. She doesn’t try to push anything but let’s you go at your pace. She helps you throughout the way and is there when you need her the most.
