About Me

I became a therapist 7 years ago with the passion and drive to connect with people and work side by side creating motivation for positive change in their lives. I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, various economic and vocational issues, communication problems, LGBT-Q topics, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive; I also like to throw some humor in there! I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I value collaborating with an individual as they are the experts on their lives. I seek to build trust as I am open to all experiences one chooses to share. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, didactic behavioral therapy, strengths based, and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Katie has been so wonderful, when we started she listened to how I wanted to work through things and has been so respectful of that but also pushes me to think about issues or the way I am looking at something in a different way.
On top of that she really helps me to feel validated, that what I am feeling or going through is worth talking about and I do not need to just bottle it up and pretend it is nothing.
She has really been helping me to learn more about myself, by working through it with me not for me.

Katie is a great counselor that I feel very comfortable with.
