I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. For over 20 years, I have gained experience working with individuals from diverse cultures and populations who have faced challenging life circumstances in the areas of: substance abuse issues, relationship difficulties, mental health barriers (i.e. depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders) and grief and loss. I have provided services targeting stress management, coping and recovery, self-esteem and confidence, trauma, PTSD, as well as assisted individuals to develop problem solving strategies in order to move beyond debilitating life experiences. My preferred population for services is adults (women; 26 and over). In addition, my preference for providing therapy to clients, is via video conferencing.
My area of interest and expertise lies in the sphere of relationships; the relationship one has with self. I believe that the relationship one has with self is formed early in life and often impacts ones’ ability to be fully present and engaged in healthy intimate, personal and social relationships. My goal in counseling is to create a comfortable and trusting environment for clients to explore areas of their life which are challenging, stressful and ineffective.
My counseling style is compassionate, encouraging and motivating. I characterize myself as a non-judgmental therapist who strives to provide an atmosphere in which clients can safely explore and work through internalized feelings which hinder personal growth. I partner with clients to increase self – awareness, identify and release restrictive patterns, foster empowerment and encourage positive change.
I received my Master’s Degree from Troy State University in Counseling and Psychology.

Only had 2 sessions with Katina but her approach has been very different than past therapist. She really helps me very to the root of the problems and helps me Identify ways for growth. One thing I been using that helps me be aware is she told to allow myself to sit in my feelings and say how I feel to myself. I am able to not act rational.
