I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. For over 20 years, I have gained experience working with individuals from diverse cultures and populations who have faced challenging life circumstances in the areas of: substance abuse issues, relationship difficulties, mental health barriers (i.e. depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders) and grief and loss. I have provided services targeting stress management, coping and recovery, self-esteem and confidence, trauma, PTSD, as well as assisted individuals to develop problem solving strategies in order to move beyond debilitating life experiences. My preferred population for services is adults (women; 26 and over). In addition, my preference for providing therapy to clients, is via video conferencing.
My area of interest and expertise lies in the sphere of relationships; the relationship one has with self. I believe that the relationship one has with self is formed early in life and often impacts ones’ ability to be fully present and engaged in healthy intimate, personal and social relationships. My goal in counseling is to create a comfortable and trusting environment for clients to explore areas of their life which are challenging, stressful and ineffective.
My counseling style is compassionate, encouraging and motivating. I characterize myself as a non-judgmental therapist who strives to provide an atmosphere in which clients can safely explore and work through internalized feelings which hinder personal growth. I partner with clients to increase self – awareness, identify and release restrictive patterns, foster empowerment and encourage positive change.
I received my Master’s Degree from Troy State University in Counseling and Psychology.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Katina Johnson-Pease. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Love how she makes me feel heard and continues to validate my feelings.
Katina cancelled our session on the same day it was scheduled, the reason: she wanted to review the basic info I submitted about myself. When I asked her to provide 24 hours notice before canceling (unless there's an emergency of which I would completely understand) she would not accept me as a patient. This experience was extremely unprofessional.
She have a great personality and very helpful person
I enjoy my sessions and thankful I have someone reaching out to me consistently.
Katina everything I didn’t know I needed! She’s given me tools I use everyday and it’s helped me so much in a short period of time (one month)! I definitely recommend her!
My therapist is a great listener and offers me different perspectives to see a situation
Ms. Katina was so amazing. She was extremely patient with me and provided me with so many examples of how to work through anxiety. She also helped me with awareness. We completed several exercises and had several great conversations. She provided me with the tools I need to be successful. I appreciated working with her.
Katina has been very helpful to me in a short amount of time. She is thoughtful, very clear on the objectives for our sessions. She also provides insightful quotes, and guidance throughout the week to supplement our sessions. I feel supported, but she is helping me to navigate the process and take personal accountability. I appreciate her professionalism and consistency.
I have always wanted a counselor who would listen and empathize with my issues, but would not become a yes-man therapist. Katina not only listens (and understands) what I am saying, but challenges me to think deeper into my psyche to understand the why. I've never had a therapist actually help me overcome trauma like Katina has. She's by far one of the best counselors I've ever had in my life. That I can say with certainty.
Katina is an awesome therapist! I really appreciate her help. Very good listener. She checks in with you and sends positive messages to uplift your day. I highly recommend Katina as your new therapist!
Katina is kind, attentive, understanding and resourceful. She clearly loves what she does. Would definitely recommend her services to a friend!
Mrs. Pease is very punctual and listens and really dissect the information given to provide the best response.
I appreciate being paired with you! Can’t wait to learn more about one another.
She has great energy, is a wonderful listener, and offers great feedback and advice!
