Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist and I've been practicing, primarily working with adults, for the past five years. I received my Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from Biola University in 2014. Since then, I have been privileged to work in settings with diverse client populations and my clients have sought help for a large variety of reasons. I have particular specialties in working with people who struggle with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, problems with relationships, and grief/loss. My main approach to therapy is relationship-based. I truly believe that therapy is only helpful if there is a warm, supportive relationship between the therapist and the client. So, it is my priority to foster a positive therapeutic relationship with my clients. That being said, it doesn't mean I won't challenge you, encourage you to do things outside of your comfort zone, or bring up potentially sensitive issues that need to be addressed. However, my ultimate aim is to do this with warmth and respect for each and every one of my clients.
I have been trained in multiple therapy modalities. The benefit of this is that I have a variety of tools and skills with which to pull from in therapy. As a result, each person's treatment plan can be created specifically for whatever their needs and goals for treatment are. I am a big believer in creating goals for therapy, as it creates a focus for our work together. Setting goals is something I can do with the client at the beginning of therapy, or if they already have an idea of what their goals may be we can just jump right in! Regardless of where my clients are when they begin therapy, I am always excited to start working together. I am honored to be able to work as a therapist, to be entrusted with your life stories, to walk with you in difficult times and celebrate with you the joys of life. Thank you for taking the time to read this and learn about me. If you think we may be a good fit together, please feel free to request to begin working with me.

Dr. Castro has been so helpful during this difficult time. She gives great advice, makes you feel comfortable and made a big difference!
Quick, clinical, tactful, and helpful. For those who need a relationship check up, Dr. Castro is an excellent source to go to.
Thanks for the BetterHelp platform and thanks Dr.Castro, the video session supports me a lot during the covid19.
Dr. Castro is a great therapist. She doesn’t judge and makes you feel super comfortable. She is full of amazing advice and is very caring.
Dr. Castro has been very helpful in a time when I needed professional help the most. I have had a tough life and with the covid-19 situation life got tougher. I experienced my first panic attacks in my life and thankfully she was able to help me deal with the situation. I also struggle with anxiety and she has been very helpful in teaching me about how to deal with it positively. I am very thankful that she was willing to hear me out and be understanding and most importantly helpful. I have learned how important it is to check on your mental health and have realized that I have ignored that aspect of my life because I would just overwork myself. Thank you so much Dr. Castro, you are very professional. I highly recommend her to anyone needing a professional psychologist.
Dr. Castro is amazing and kind and I never feel judged by her. She explains things in a way that doesn’t make you feel crazy!
I’ve recommended this site and Dr. Castro multiple times since starting. :) Keep up the excellent work! God bless.
I have met with Dr. Castro only a couple of times but I've been pleased. I just scheduled my 3rd appointment with her. She listens to me and has given me some good insight, it's still very new but I have appreciated her as a counselor.
