About Me

Greetings,

We are currently living with incredibly challenging climate due to this pandemic, political upheaval, natural disasters and overall exhaustion. During these times, stress, anxiety, fear and depression are increasingly common. I am honored to have the opportunity to walk beside you and help support you through therapeutic tools, learning new practices, exploring our fear and also the opportunities for growth.

I have many years of experience working within the field of crisis and disaster response, depression, anxiety and trauma based responses to events outside of our control. I also have significant experience with domestic and sexual violence, childhood trauma and recovery. I also am passionate about working with the LGBTQI+ population whether this is recovering from trauma, coping with adverse family response, gender identity or exploring your unique sexual identity. I am in the final stages of completing my certification as a sex therapist, with a focus on working within the LGBTQ+, polyamory and alternative lifestyle communities.

I am passionate about working with clients to discover their own unique talents, identities and tools to reach their fullest potential. My style of therapy is collaborative, explorative and strength based. Together we will work towards goals you set to address challenges and facilitate growth.

We will work together in a collaborative and respectful manner, with you leading the way to your own recovery and goals. I am available any evening of the week, and currently have wide availability on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Kat has been a truly amazing life-line during a very hard period of change and grief. She has a great sense for when to dig deeper into issues, patience when I needed to come back to a topic again and again, and willingness to meet me exactly where I was at. I loved working with Katrina. She was compassionate and nonjudgmental, and made me feel very safe. At the same time, she asked tough questions that helped me get to the root of my fears and anxieties. I got so much out of working with her, and feel like I have the tools to handle stressful or distressing situations that might come up. Maybe more importantly, I have a deeper understanding of myself and what it means for me to be mentally healthy, and I feel so much less day to day anxiety and fear than I did before I started therapy. Although some of what we uncovered together was painful, I truly enjoyed our time working together each week. I can’t say enough good things about Katrina. She is a wonderful counselor!

Getting paired with Katrina was the biggest gift. While no two experiences are exactly the same, she understood the issues I was navigating from a personal place as opposed to just intellectual. She helped me explore new ways of thinking and ultimately, a more effective way to heal. I can’t recommend her enough.
