About Me

Hello,
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with M.A. in Psychology & Counseling in Texas practicing over 10 years. I have worked with various age groups, ethnicities, genders under different settings, i.e., hospitals, residentials, private firms, & etc. I have experiences of working with various issues including various mood disorders/issues as well as personality disorders, ptsd, family issues, couples issues, gender issues, & more. I believe in resolving issues by exploring the root of the problem behaviors whether they be anxiety, depression, OCD, or relationship conflict.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Psycho Dynamic approaches are among my favorites to work with. I enjoy analyzing with my clients their thought patterns & behavior tendencies through exploring their childhood & current life to find some answers that they are looking for. It’s the best! Some times the process can be painful. That’s our defense mechanism stripping. It will be worth it though, when you make it there:)

Regards,
Katy Kong

A wonderful human being. Very kind, patient, and compassionate. Katy always helps break down my problems and allows me to learn from every experience. Also always has articles available for me to read on my own time that relate to the conversations we have to learn a little more. As my first time with a therapist, I highly recommended Katy Kong :)

Straight forward and kind. Being honest will probably get your issues resolved quicker and she makes that a point and safe place for this to be allowed.

Katy was exactly what I needed. Her approach and tone were kind and loving, thought direct. She was great at moving me past what I thought I needed counseling for into discovering what I actually needed to work on. Highly recommend.

Ms. Kong has been a great counselor. I have been feeling like trash the last couple of weeks, but she has helped me think logically of ways to treat my anxiety. She listens and points out the ways I can change some habits to better myself and my day. I really appreciate to have someone in my corner who doesn't judge, but is there to listen and to give me advice when I need it the most. She takes my mental health seriously and I am grateful.

I approached this method of counseling with an open mind, not knowing what to expect. I have been extremely impressed with my counselor, Katy. She has a genuine interest in my overall health and healing process. I love the articles she sends for me to read in between our sessions. They give me insight and alternative approaches to situations I am struggling with in my life. She is intelligent and experienced, and it reflects in her sessions.
