I am a master's level licensed mental health counselor who has been providing mental health services for 29 years. I have worked with depression, anxiety, family problems, marriage counseling and trauma in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, in the family home, schools, and detention centers. I have post graduate training in the treatment of crime victims and I am a certified crime victims treatment provider. I also hold advanced certification in the EAGALA model of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and have run a summer program at the 41 Ranch in Winchester Idaho.
My counseling approach is warm and interactive and interspersed with humor and storytelling. I use an eclectic approach with clients, matching the intervention to the problem. For example, I use behavioral approaches to address behavioral problems, affective modalities for treatment of emotional issues, and cognitive approaches to thinking errors.
It takes real courage for someone to seek information and make changes. I look forward to working with you if you are ready to take that first step toward making your life happier and more fulfilling!

Kay is a great counselor. Working with her I’ve felt supported and never judged. It was very helpful to talk through a difficult family situation with an unbiased, experienced and skillful counselor. She helped me see the situation more clearly as well as find ways these relationships can function without me feeling compromised and used. Would highly recommend!
