About me

I enjoy working with young adults, children, and families to help identify root causes of concerns and help them find a source of hope for change. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have nearly10 years of experience working with children, adults, and families in outpatient behavioral health settings and schools. I also have 4 years of experience as a clinical supervisor. I have worked with clients with a variety of presenting issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma history, family conflict, parenting issues, and other various emotional and behavioral challenges. I have also have experience working with Caucasian, Hispanic, and Native American populations.

I use a whole person, strengths-based, client-centered approach and value a good therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. I draw from several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational interviewing, and Mindfulness to empower my clients to accomplish the goals they set for themselves.

I enjoy my career in mental health because I enjoy seeing my clients recognize their own strengths and make the changes needed to live a happier and healthier life. I believe that by meeting people were they are at in life, actively listening to their needs, helping them identify their strengths and guiding them in identifying pathways of hope and change, I can help my clients to over come challenges and benefit their overall mental wellness.

If you feel like these concepts align with what you are looking for in a mental health provider, please reach out to me or schedule an appointment in my schedule. I would love to join with you in addressing your concerns.

Kayla is fantastic! She has a way of making you feel comfortable and validated. We’ve only had a few sessions but my family and myself can already see a difference.
