Keirsten Johnson Roath, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana. I have worked in the field for 30 years in many capacities, but most extensively as a mental health counselor. My experience is predominantly with adults, young adults and couples of all configurations. My specialty areas include anxiety, relationship issues, assertiveness training, mindfulness techniques, mediation, self-image, and grief and loss.
Counseling services offer people the opportunity to heal suffering, to increase well-being and to explore and ultimately move through emotional and psychological obstacles in their lives. It is my belief that effective counseling is guided by the expertise you have about yourself and your willingness to enter into a mutually respectful and professional relationship with a counselor. The theoretical basis for my practice is Gestalt Theory, which emphasizes present moment awareness, which is shaped by patterns of our past, and realness. I am a trained therapist, yes, but first and foremost, I am a human being, with flaws, fears and failings. What I offer my clients is a human connection and a safe space for them to also be human, without judgement.
I look forward to our work together.
