About me

Hello!

My name is Keisha McGill. I hold a Doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University where I completed my dissertation on the “Lived Experiences of African American Mothers Raising Gifted Children”. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS #S6486) approved by the NCBLMHC to provide counseling to consumers and supervision to other professionals seeking the LCMHC credential. I am also credentialed as a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS #20053) with the NCSAPPB, which certifies me to provide substance use specific treatment to consumers and supervision for those seeking credentialing.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and couples; I began my counseling career in 2002 working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have spent the bulk of my career working with the adolescent and adult substance use population. I have extensive experience working with co-occurring diagnoses; such as consumers presenting with both mental health and substance use diagnoses. I consider myself a lifelong learner, which is to say I look forward to working and learning with you on your journey to mental health.

She's great, but always responsive. I understand though, she's probably juggling a lot of clients, and it's the holidays. I find her to be very nice and I'm happy she recommended that I seek medication.

Dr. Kaye is the best therapist. She is an attentive listener and provides a safe space like all good therapists, but what makes her stand apart from others is how she ALWAYS keeps it real. She is always there for me to provide non-judgmental accountability. I trust her completely. I know she is always in my corner and wants the best for me and wants to see me thrive. She has helped me become more self aware about the recurring patterns that no longer serve me. After the awareness is there, she holds me accountable to take action and make changes and put what we learn to practice in the real world. Everyone needs a Dr. Kaye in their life, and I feel SO lucky to have found her.

Dr. McGill is compassionate, relatable, and truly hears and addresses my concerns. I have leaned into learning and growing because of her wisdom. I feel lighter, my anxiety has lessened, and I feel more confident in my decision-making process.

I’ve loved working with Dr. McGill! I had a rough experience with a previous BetterHelp counselor, and I’m very glad that Dr. McGill was my next match. She listens to my issues and pushes me to think about areas where she sees potential concerns or issues to delve deeper into without trying to push me toward a certain solution.
