Kellie Cook

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I have seven years of experience in the mental health field and have worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, eating and body image issues, and relationship issues.

I believe each of us has the ability to take control of our lives and make the changes we need to be happy, but sometimes we need a little help or direction along the way. I want to help you identify what you want and need, and to assist you in figuring out how to achieve this. I value the connection between client and therapist and above all else, I want my clients to be and feel heard. As a counselor, I will offer you a safe, warm, and respectful environment free of judgment.

I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques to help you learn the skills you need to tackle problems on your own. My counseling style is tailored to fit the needs of individual clients, but overall it is solution focused and holistic. I have survived my own struggles with anxiety, grief, and trauma, which gives me a unique perspective and an ability to better understand my clients. I will meet you where you are, and together we’ll work towards where you want to be.

In my time away from counseling, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, volunteering with animal rescue groups, watching football, and spending time with friends and family.

I am only a week or so into this and so far I am pleased with Kellie's attentiveness and insight into my life's challenges.

My work with Kellie has allowed me to triumph over my social anxiety, which is something that I have struggled with since I was a teenager. My anxiety used to keep me from connecting with others and loving myself, but my work with Kellie has completely changed my life for the better. I don't feel like I have to examine every little word I say to someone afterwards, and I finally can say that I don't hate myself anymore. She is the best counselor I've ever worked with, and I also truly appreciate that she is 100% LGBT friendly. I would recommended her to anyone who needs help and who wants to quickly improve.

My experience with Kellie has been nothing short of life-altering. In a short time span via the internet, she has gently but effectively guided me to uncover root issues that have haunted me for decades. Kellie has helped me so much. She offers a variety of solutions and is always trying to be aware of how I respond to her methods and adjusts accordingly. I have already recommended her and BetterHelp to a few friends because I feel I have benefited from this so much.
