About me

Whether you are seeking lasting changes through a deeper understanding of self or a space to address specific issues that you want to resolve, I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is both self-directed and unique to you as an individual.

I take an integrative and holistic approach to treating individuals using a variety of approaches including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). My specialties include anxiety disorders, mood disorders and relationship issues.

A rewarding therapeutic experience always begins with the relationship between client and therapist. Together we can create a space in which you will feel comfortable and safe enough to openly engage in the therapeutic process. Through the process of self-exploration, lasting changes can happen.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New York and New Jersey. I received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Social Work from New York University, Silver School of Social Work. Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kelly Chapman. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Kelly is an incredibly patient and supportive counselor. I always feel heard during our sessions and she creates a very safe space to share. She’s helped me cope with a lot of issues and she’s been my counselor for about two years now. I couldn’t have matched with a better person. She’s also incredibly well-versed in different intervention strategies, as she draws from different sources and fields of study.

I have been going through a months long rough patch as I have worked on purging negative aspects of myself while trying to be my best self. She has been patient, caring, and supportive, even when I wouldn't respond to her check in messages for months at a time. I finally feel, partly thanks to her, that I am in a place to continue using her skills to help me figure out my next steps.

Kelly is overall amazing. I wish I had connected with her sooner. She has helped me navigate through such a difficult time in my life.

She responds quickly and understands my frustrations and concerns.

Kelly has been an incredible counselor. She is diligent to constantly check in on me and see how I am doing. If she doesn’t hear from me, she will always reach out to make sure I am okay. She is very approachable and easy to talk to. And once you talk to her, she skillfully will help you look at your situation from a different perspective to get a better handle on it. I had so many “ah-ha!” lightbulb moments that opened floodgates of tears from the epiphanies Kelly helped me to see.
Kelly has helped me to combat negative feelings- how to find the root of my low self-esteem and how to counter these feelings.

Through worksheets and discussions she really wants to draw out the inner person and help rewire the way you tackle situations. I highly recommend having Kelly as a counselor. The personal interest she shows, professionalism, punctuality, and dedication is really unmatched.
I love that she makes time for her clients online but she also has her schedule set for her personal life- it makes her very easy to respect and admire how she balances everything so gracefully.

Kelly is always ready to listen and offer advice even if you feel like it's a silly or trivial problem.
