About Me

Hi. My name is Ken Fields. I am a nationally certified, state licensed mental health counselor. I am available online to provide you with quality, professional online counseling. Whatever problems and troubles you are faced with, I can offer you positive, non-judgmental support and effective therapeutic intervention. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, anger, grief, procrastination, relationship problems or work related/career issues...whatever situation you perceive to be troubling or a problem, it can be discussed in privacy and confidentiality through online counseling.


I have provided mental and behavioral health counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups for over 25 years dealing with such issues as depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, anger, traumatic stress, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, obsessions and compulsions, relationship conflicts and communication breakdowns, to name a few. During this time, I have also taught public and private classes on various self-improvement topics including self-image psychology, goal setting, visualization, motivation, communication and negotiation, parenting, coaching, stress and anger management, meditation and relaxation. I have worked as an individual and family therapist for years in the community and throughout school districts, an employee assistance counselor, the director of a crisis intervention program, a clinical supervisor and an administrator in a human service agency.

Ken is awesome. He was very patient and understanding with me and responded in a better than timely fashion when things were very chaotic on my end, recognizing the need for more rapid response. I felt very comfortable with him in a very short period of time. He was a great neutral forum to express myself and not feel judged in any way. I highly recommend his counsel.

Ken is the most compassionate of therapists I have ever met. He is a fantastic listener, he gives great advice yet doesn't push you his beliefs on himself yet guides you to your own with love, empathy, and compassion. I could not recommend him more highly.

Ken has helped me to analyze my issues from a very thoughtful and mature standpoint. He's given me a comforting and logical perspective on what I found to be a very distressing situation. When I signed up with Better Help late one night, I was shocked to get a message from Ken so quickly - it was probably 11 at night. Unlike other counselors I've seen, his response was action oriented, advice-based for coping with how I was feeling. It wasn't "so, tell me how you feel." Every time I've come to him with a problem or a feeling, he responds quickly and with helpful advice and guidance that has lifted weight off my shoulders. Ken has given me a lot of think about and reflect upon. I wasn't sure I'd love the written format. But unlike in-person therapy sessions, I've been able to go back to his responses and reference them when I feel lost. He's responded to me a timely manner and checks in when there's extended periods between my communications.
