About me
Kendra Alex is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
She obtained her degrees from Florida State University and began her career in Houston, Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Kendra worked with patients and family members affected by Cancer and related conditions. She conducted support groups, provided inpatient and outpatient services and anticipatory grief counseling. Kendra transition in to hospice care at Big Bend Hospice where she provided grief counseling and case management services. She then worked for many years at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Behavioral Health Center where she provided inpatient services including initial assessments, individual and group counseling and case management. Kendra is also an Adjunct Professor at Florida State University in the College of Social Work.
Her areas of clinical interest include; depression, abuse, grief/ bereavement, anxiety, panic disorders, trauma, and substance abuse. She uses modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address major life stressors. Kendra works with adolescents and adults.
