About me

Have you ever wondered to yourself, "what is wrong with me?" or "How come I can't get better?" or "Why can't I snap out of it?" Well, you are not alone. Many people have these thoughts and making it more difficult for you is that people see you as a "problem". I want to point out to you that there is nothing wrong with you, you are not a problem and that the struggles that you are having are just challenges that need to be worked through. Now these challenges will not be fixed over night and will take some time. This is where I come in.

I attended Columbia University School of Social Work and have been a social worker for over 23 years. My focus is clinical practice and use a variety of clinical approaches to work with the challenges associated with the above and other emotional distress experienced by my clients. My modality focus tends to be a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Now how does this apply to you? Well, I can tell you that first of all that is shows incredible strength to want, show up, and engage in treatment. We will start with a basic assessment so that I can get to know you better and then we will develop treatment goals of your choosing so that we have a focus. We will then work on a variety of clinical interventions that apply to your situation. This will take some time and I always like to say to my clients "Keep going. We will get through this together." The amount of sessions vary depending on the circumstances. I have had clients as short as 8 sessions and some for several years. Though treatment does not guarantee success, I have had many successful outcomes with clients like you.

If what I say interests you and would like to pursue treatment further with me, reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from and working with you. Let's get started!
