About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in helping professions. I have a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I’ve had an opportunity to work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders to name a few.

Generally speaking, my theoretical approach will be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. This doesn’t mean I don’t incorporate other therapeutic approaches. You’re an individual therefore I don’t attempt to force a particular framework.

I am an active listener who enjoys supporting clients with self-discovery and development of personal goals. It’s amazing how beneficial it can be to speak with someone unbiased, nonjudgmental and eager to be supportive. I enjoy being a part of a process where people learn, grow and develop based on their standards and ideas of success. You know your life better than anyone else. Sometimes as humans, we need assistance in realizing this. I look forward to being a part of that process if given the opportunity.

Take care in the meantime.

Kenya is a great therapist and mental health professional. She’s helped me for a year now and I am so grateful for the guidance she’s given me. She listens and truly tries to see things from my perspective in order to give me advice that is timely, relatable, and extremely useful. I would recommend Kenya to anyone as a therapist.

Kenya has been incredibly helpful to me learning and figuring out how to live life in a healthy way. She recognized things in me I didn’t see in myself, and that was incredibly helpful. She is a great listener and seems to totally lack judgement. I would nervously come with something I was ashamed of and she never showed judgement or reaction which was very nice. I’m sure she adapts to peoples needs, but I found her ability to be light and laugh very touching and enjoyable. Would highly recommend Kenya to anyone who wants to be heard and have the space to explore themselves in this setting, and more too.
