About me

Welcome!!! and thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
I have been in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling for over 20 years and worked with a variety of populations in all different settings. The goal while treating you is to build a solid therapeutic relationship by being empathetic, having a genuine concern for your emotional well-being and most importantly listening to you without judgment. I am an eclectic therapist which means I use a variety of therapeutic approaches based on your need; however the foundation of our therapeutic relationship is treating you with dignity, respect and being aware of your values and beliefs.
What I enjoy most about counseling is what I like to call “the magic moment”. It means seeing you embrace the therapeutic process by doing the necessary work needed to promote change in your life, seeing the outcome and watching your mood become uplifted. At times there may be difficult moments especially when disputing irrational thought processes; however remembering that I am right here with you as a guide and support.
The main goal is for you to develop solid coping skills by learning how to battle destructive feelings and thought patterns. Change can be difficult and I commend you for taking the necessary steps to freedom . I am confident I will being able to assist you in that process and I look forward to working with you.

Kenya Foster is amazing! She listens to everything you have to say and helps you analyze what you’re going through while coming up with ways to fix it. She really wants to see her clients get better. It is easy to speak with her and I am grateful she is my therapist!
