I am a Board Qualified Licensed Professional Counselor who finds pleasure in helping others through their "big door in, small door out" problems. I have over 21 years of mental health experience by which 19 of those years I served faithfully as a Mental Health Counselor. My experience as a counselor has taught me that there is nothing new under the sun and all people deserve to be loved, heard, and validated.
In my initial educational pursuits, I attended the University of Alabama where I gained a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice. I know this is a far stretch from counseling but it was in this program where I realized my passion to rehabilitate and not punish a person for their choices. In order to bring this passion to fruition, I enrolled in the Counselor Education Program at Mississippi State University and earned a Masters Degree in Counselor Education.
While serving in the capacity of a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked with individual with a myriad of issues ranging from Depression, ADHD, Anger Management, Psychosis, and Grief. I consider myself an integrationist because I believe in doing what works best for my clients depending on their needs. As an integrationist, I employ treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person Centered, Solution Focus, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I look forward to working with you as I am sure this experience will be rewarding for the both of us!

She's the best. It doesn't feel like therapy. She listens very well and offers a unique perspective. I've changed my views toward therapy and encourage others around me to try it. I couldn't have asked for a better counselor.
I worked with Keona for about six months after having a marital separation. Throughout the process, she was understanding, kind, thoughtful, pushed me where I needed to be pushed while recognizing and respecting my boundaries, and recognized and helped me identify areas where I was strong and also areas where I needed work. I cannot speak more highly of her as a professional and I cannot imagine having to go through the separation process without someone like her on my side.
Although I have only been working with Keona a couple weeks I have absolutely loved my experience. She has made my first counselling program experience less intimidating, she makes me feel extremely comfortable to share my thoughts, feelings and experiences with her. She checks in with me frequently which shows how much she truly cares about my well-being. I look forward to continuing my progress with Keona!
I’m so happy and blessed to find Keona! From our first session I could tell she was very warm and easy to talk to. Felt comfortable with her right away and her insight and intuitive nature helps you to be open a honest without hesitation.
Very good counseling. Down to earth personality and sound advice/methods.
Keona gave me so many practical tips for my anxiety that are already making a important difference in my life. She helped me to identify the automatic thoughts that trigger my social anxiety which is something that I had never done before therapy. Keona also gave me important tips to help me organize my time and priorities as this is something I really struggle with due to my ADHD.
Keona harris has been going at my pace and I like that. I'm not type of person who likes to text much or call much. I had one video call which went really well. She is a happy person and very supportive and listens really well. I had to miss my second interview but she was understanding and rescheduled my session with me. She also checks up on me periodically which I like. I am going to start taking more advantage of the services and I am sure she is going to continue to help me through my recovery process with depression. She is a good therapist and I would recommend her to a friend using better help. She knows what she's doing.
Keona is awesome! She is very responsive and kind. She asks great questions and works very hard to help our her clients. She is a lovely person and I would recommend her!
