About me
If you have ever felt sad, alone, misunderstood, different, unheard, afraid, angry or “meh”, it means you are human. These are only a few of the many emotions people experience, so it makes sense that we may need help sorting through the woes of life. Since you are reading this, it shows that you are considering reaching out for help navigating those experiences – which is a huge step in helping you or your loved one achieve a sense of balance and psychological stability.
With 13 years of experience in counseling young children and adolescents in schools, I have decided to extend my skills beyond the academic setting in a capacity that allows more in-depth support. I take great joy in helping individuals navigate life despite the obstacles and work to become their best self. While the struggles in life will not disappear, it is important that necessary skills are learned and practiced to help address these challenges and emerge stronger and wiser than before.
I firmly believe that every individual has the capacity to achieve their desired potential if given the support they need become their best, whole self, despite their personal or environmental obstacles. To help clients address their concerns in ways that best fit their needs, I prefer to use an integrative approach to counseling including cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, dialectical behavior, and acceptance & commitment therapies, as well as motivational interviewing and mindfulness. Through my experience in the school setting, I have helped students navigate challenges including but not limited to anxiety, depression, gender identity, non-suicidal self-injury, suicidal ideation, anger, autism spectrum disorders, behavior disorders, social interaction, divorce, academic struggles, family conflict, death/grief, and trauma. It is my goal to support clients in navigating the challenges of life and emerging as their best self each time.
