Hello, my name is Kerry Duarte. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Salve Regina University as well as a Master of Social Work degree from Wheelock College. I have worked in community agencies offering in-home and office-based therapy. I have also worked within school settings as a school- based social worker. A year ago I started an online private practice called Ray of Light Wellness so I am used to teleconferencing and working with clients virtually. For clients looking for a bilingual therapist, I provide counseling sessions in both English and in Portuguese. I have the most experience helping clients who are undergoing depression, anxiety, trauma & PTSD, life transitions, chronic pain, grief & loss, eating disorders, and addictions. I use a strength-based approach utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness to help clients gain self awareness and healthier coping strategies.
Being a therapist is a true passion for me that allows me to love what I do. I want to help others find fulfilling ways to bring health, joy, and happiness back into their lives. I believe it is extremely important to have a good therapist-client relationship in order for therapy to be effective. I am more than ready to partner up with you to guide you in accomplishing your personal goals. Never ever give up on yourself and on your goals. When you are ready, I am ready to go on the healing journey with you.

Kerry has been great. She had worked with me on my terms, making the whole process, which is quite new to me, approachable. It’s been particularly helpful to have a therapist with a shared immigrant experience of life in the US.
Kerry Duarte has truly changed my life. I am so thankful for her and everything she has taught me about myself and the people around me. She is incredibly thoughtful, kind, approachable, and engaged. I’m so thankful that I met her and got to grow with her. She has changed my life for the better.
Kerry is great!
Kerry is one of the good ones! I find her compassionate, kind, and understanding. She has been a great help to me.
I’ve been working with Kerry for a couple weeks now and she’s really helped my anxiety. I have a therapist who I love, but unfortunately she doesn’t take my new insurance. Kerry has been a great transition and has even provided me so insight that I didn’t consider. She’s responds quickly, but if she knows she’ll be unavailable, she’ll let you know and is true to her word on when she’ll get back.
She is extremely professional, compassionate and helpful at reframing things in a way that helps me understand my situation better.
She is nice and understanding. I could talk with her about everything.
Kerry is amazing. This is my first experience with any kind of therapist and she made me feel extremely comfortable right from the beginning. I really feel like I can talk to her about anything and even if she can’t respond right away I feel better just by sending her the message since I know it’s going to be read by someone so understanding. I couldn’t have been matched with a better first time therapist and I am so grateful.
She is kind and responds with care. She sends me tools that are appropriate to my problems. She checks in when she has not heard from me. Great fit for me
