Dr. Kevin Clancey, Psychologist
About me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. My therapeutic specialties include addressing neurodiversity, couple's counseling, existential concern, grief/loss, and providing LGBTQ and gender identity support. I have research interests in the imposter syndrome, transpersonal psychology, and the use of language and metaphors.
My therapeutic approach:
Not all therapy is alike. Psychologists can draw from several theories of psychotherapy. My therapeutic approach is based in humanism, which highlights the autonomy of the individual and the importance of the here and now. Therapy using this approach is client-driven with the therapist acting in the role of support.
My education and experience:
I received a Doctor of Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University. I have more than 9 years of experience working with clients in a variety of life stages.
