About me

Hi, thanks for checking out my profile! :)

In my time as a licensed therapist I have been privileged to work with people from many walks of life, connecting with them and helping them find a way to live in relative harmony with themselves and those around them. I have been working in Oklahoma and Canada as a counselor for over 11 years now! Gosh that seems like a long time.

Some of the most profound changes I have seen people experience while working with me are those experiencing addiction. It is an issue that has affected me personally and something that I have spent much time and energy to understand.

Another area where I have seen people make positive progress is with young people and their families. Before covid I spent my days being invited into schools and homes to help people make positive change in themselves and their families. I feel that I have been blessed through my contact with every single one of these families.

My approach to counseling is based on understanding that problems exist outside of the self. A problem is a relationship and like any relationship there are things that can be done to take control. It is never the person that is bad, only their relationship to a problem. By building positive relationships and focusing (mostly)on areas of strength we can overcome most problems.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are reading this then you have already taken the first step. Congratulations! You've done the hardest part.
Best Wishes,
Kevin
