About me

Welcome to Better Help! You have taken a huge step by coming to Better Help and I hope that you will find it worthwhile.

My name is Kila Carrier, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2011. I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues, ranging from depression/anxiety, stress, addiction issues, trauma/abuse, and more. I find that a client-centered approach and creating a positive, safe space for my clients to work through their personal struggles is crucial in the healing process.

I believe that we all can overcome obstacles that life presents us, and therapy can be the foundation that an individual needs to remove those obstacles. My approach as a therapist is to allow a client to share their truth without fear of judgment. The therapy journey can be uncomfortable and challenging but it is my duty as a provider to offer a warm, comforting presence and offer insight to help steer the journey in a positive, rewarding direction. I also feel that therapy should be a working relationship between therapist and client. I want to help you see your own strengths and how capable you are of identifying ways to tackle the issues you are facing.

It would be my privilege and honor to work with you. You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. I check my messages at least twice daily, 7 days per week. I offer messaging, live chat, and phone sessions in the evenings and weekends.
I look forward to working with you!
