Welcome! Reaching out for help is often the first and most difficult step to initiating change in our lives but I’m so glad that you are here! My name is Kim and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have been working in the field for over 25 years, the last 14 years have been in private practice. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina State University in 1989 and my Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1995. I have lived in Tennessee for the past 20 years. Throughout the years I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, trauma, addictions, and workplace stress. I have extensive training and experience working with couples and other relationship issues. I am certified in critical incident stress debriefing and am trained and utilize EMDR therapy in treating trauma related issues. My primary approaches with clients include cognitive behavioral approach, solution focused therapy, and dialectical and behavioral therapy to assist in emotional regulation.
I believe that unconditional positive regard in a therapeutic relationship is essential to making a connection with my clients in order to provide them a safe nonjudgemental environment where they can freely discover their best , most authentic self! Through self-reflection and discovery it is possible to overcome tremendous obstacles and issues that have impeded growth in the past and can lead directly to the positive change that the client desires. I would feel fortunate to get the opportunity for us to work together to help you achieve the change you would like to see in your life!

Excellent therapist! She knew when to listen, when to push, and how to teach me to sit with myself.
So helpful, compassionate, and real. She helped me tremendously during a really low point in my life.
