I’m Kim and thank you for viewing my profile. I entered into this field in 2007 and earned my license in 2011 in the state of Georgia. I chose to become a therapist later in my life as I was searching for my place in the world and what my calling actually was. In that search, I’ve had many jobs and multiple experiences that fuel my therapeutic outlook and how I interact with clients. In this field, I’ve worked with many levels of need, from inpatient to outpatient and from addiction to mental illness.
My work as a therapist is to achieve the client’s goal, to utilize all techniques at my disposal for that endeavor and to ensure the client has the tools they need to move forward in life. I do tend to lean more towards REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) modalities. I appreciate their focus on the interaction of thoughts, feelings and behaviors, exploring how thoughts and feelings fuel our actions and how changing our actions can result in new thoughts and new feelings. Exploring underlying belief systems, negative self-talk, and unhealthy responses are key in this endeavor. I also believe in the importance of humor in the therapeutic process, as humor allows space around an issue to breath. My role involves challenging my clients to confront their own patterns and recognize their role in their own issues
I don’t “fix” people…I can help clear the debris that is cluttering your path and I can illuminate a path you couldn’t see before. But, it is the client’s dedication to change and growth that will ultimately define the success of my work with them. It’s these clients that inspire me to be the best therapist I know how to be.
My focus is on working with individuals with substance abuse issues and self-esteem struggles. These topics speak to me and fuel my desire to help people reach their goals. I currently provide therapy via video, phone and messaging.
Please be aware that my availability is limited, so when deciding if I'm the right therapist for you, church to make sure my hours match your needs.
Whoever you work with, I hope you achieve your goals.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kim Gardner. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I am grateful for having been matched with Kim. Within a very short span of time, she was able to pin point my thinking patterns and has unlocked a lot within me. She helped me resolve a lot of internal conflict. This not just saved time and therapy costs, making it more cost effective and efficient, but also helped me grow at the right pace. Her emotional intelligence is amazing. When I was struggling to find one key point of entanglement, she guessed it for me, and it was magical in the sense that I finally found the words for the feelings buried deep within. As an accountant and a working mom, who is always starved of time, not just for therapy but for feeling the feelings, she made therapy an easy and a very rewarding experience for me. I feel much lighter as things seem much more simpler now.....
