Dr. Kim Hoffman

About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and I have 20+ years experience in the field of psychology. Please know that while I am not an expert in everything, I have worked in the field for quite awhile now, and as such, I have worked with a wide range of people with a large spectrum of issues. I am generally able to connect with most people and find ways to be helpful. But, please know that it is important that you feel comfortable when working with your therapist, and if you don't feel like it is a good match then your progress may be hindered. Also, I feel it is my job to tell you if I would not be a good fit for you and your progress. That being said, I have extensive experience working with mood and behavioral issues such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, as well as other problems such as life changes/transition, co-dependency, addictions and relationship challenges. I use a wide variety of techniques that I would be willing to go over with you if you are interested, but know that my primary background uses Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT). I am also well versed in motivational interviewing, gestalt therapy and exploring family dynamics. Overall though, I generally tailor my work to fit you and what your needs are. I am certainly available by chat, phone and video. I try to check in, review and respond to written communications 1-2 times per day, M-F. I also try to adjust my schedule weekly to let you know when I am available for phone or video sessions, but also feel free to ask about scheduling, as these can be faster ways for us to get to know each other and faster ways for you to experience some changes.

Very knowledgeable and patient. She provides a lot of options to approach healing and she ensures to leave the power of all this in your hands without making it feel a burden. She's a great listener and will help you to learn how to be more mindful and how to offer yourself more kindness where it's needed. She's not afraid to ask hard questions to make you dig deep, which if very effective in the healing process, but she's never forceful with it either. Definitely the best counselor I've seen on here.

Dr. Hoffman seems to always know the right thing to say and exactly when I need it. Just knowing I have her support has lessened my anxiety issues tremendously. For any busy, working professional who is also a wife, mom, or who just needs third-party support, BetterHelp is the answer.

I adore Dr. Hoffman - communication with her is easy and not stressful. She really supports me by telling me what I did right, even if I feel like I’ve failed, and how I can do better next time. She doesn’t overly challenge me or push me out of my comfort zone - which is good because I do that to myself plenty. My needs are understood and I feel cared for. She does a great job.
