About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in the state of North Carolina. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, couples, and families, who have experienced a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief/loss, low self-esteem, and relationship/communication challenges, as well as LGBTQ issues.

I believe in taking a supportive and educative approach to counseling in a non-judgmental manner. I believe in meeting my clients where they are, and empowering them to achieve the best version of themselves. My theoretical approaches includes Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based approaches.

I read my messages from Monday through Friday, with the goal of responding within 24 hours. I will likely not be checking messages on the weekends as I believe in work/life balance in an effort to stay mentally fit.

It takes courage to take steps towards change. If you feel you are ready to start your healing process, I am here to support you, and look forward to working with you!

Kim has helped me tremendously. I am so thankful I was paired with her and I cannot thank her enough for her help along my journey. She made me feel so comfortable, she always listens and she is so easy to talk to and open up to. Thank you Kim for everything!

Working with Kim has been great especially since I haven't really ever committed to therapy like this before. It has really taught me so much beyond what I assumed it would be. She definitely is more laid back than I expected (based on my experiences with other therapist) but I appreciate it because I never would have thought I would be laughing with my therapist along with working through my own trauma never knew those things could go hand and hand. I say all to say its not just a rewarding experience to work through my challenges but to have also guidance in allowing myself to breathe and just enjoy this learning process with some laughter thrown in :)
